Rost Machining and Fabrication was born out of passion for machining and metalwork, and a desire to utilize those skills to provide quality work and craftmanship.

Throughout the process of running the collision repair shop German Auto Body in Santa Clara, California, John struggled with delays and back-orders on specialized tools, fixtures and parts that he needed to complete his customer’s projects. Unwilling to make his clients wait unreasonable amounts of time, he took a corner of the body shop and began manufacturing the tools he needed himself after hours when the shop was closed.

Inspired by his successes in manufacturing, John decided to expand his shop’s capabilities. He also took it upon himself to further his knowledge by taking manufacturing courses at nearby colleges. Since RMF’s do-it-yourself beginnings in the corner of the collision shop, this new family business has expanded from just offering milling and turning to include sheet metal, laser cutting, surface and cylindrical grinding, finishing services, and more. Expertly providing services for multiple industries including aerospace, robotics, militant and medical devices, and more.

John has passed on his drive to learn and grow the business to his son, Brandon. John and his son are continually working together to expand their manufacturing knowledge and gain new skills, so they can offer their clients the best quality and expertly crafted results.
